MacMillin Announces Charitable Funds in Honor of 60th Anniversary
Keene, NH, Bedford, NH, and Wells, ME: Charitable funds of $10,000 have been set aside by MacMillin for special projects in 2006 in celebration of the company’s 60th anniversary. Multiple projects may receive a portion of the funds.
“We believe in supporting the vitality and life of our community and we’ve always contributed to worthwhile causes throughout New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, and Massachusetts. This year, to celebrate our 60th anniversary, we will continue to support causes we’ve recognized in the past, and we are also excited to provide the opportunity for new, innovative projects that show leadership and innovation in sustainability in both our environment and our economy,” said Bill Walker, President of MacMillin. “Construction activity is a significant contributor to waste and energy consumption. We are continually looking for ways to reduce our own impact, and applaud efforts by others to create a healthier environment and economy.”
Proposals should meet the following criteria:
- Project supports sustainability and community building.
- Project should be integrative with emphasis on team approach.
- Project should support a healthier environment and economy.
- Project should represent a commitment to quality.
- Recipients should be organizations in good standing.
In 2005, MacMillin contributed over 10% of its profits to organizations throughout New England.
