The expansive school campus is heated by a wood chip plant. Heat is distributed by a loop through the campus, eliminating the need for oil, gas or electric heat.
2007
$45,000,000 (Multiple phases and contracts.)
This project represents the largest bond vote for the State of Vermont for a public K-12 school project. The school was on the verge of losing its accreditation, based on its poor condition. Phased over a three and a half year period, the renovations, additions and new building construction occurred during regular school operations, with major construction projects occurring during the summer vacations. The project included a new wood chip burning plant with distribution loop, a Regional Career Education Center and major site work.
