Cheshire Medical Center and Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinic

The Link Building and Major Renovation

"These past two years have proved the mettle of everyone involved as we met and overcame hurdles, some typical of a project of this magnitude, and some unique. All organizations involved in the planning, design and construction of the project are to be highly commended for their accomplishments, but MacMillin's team were the true leaders who made it happen.  I am personally impressed with the quality of workmanship, the tenacity and teamwork. We are fortunate to be in this partnership with MacMillin, as we continue into the 21st century of health care."

September 2003

Value:

$37,000,000

Description:

This major renovation and construction project was phased so as not to disrupt ongoing activities. All areas of the hospital were renovated including operating rooms, emergency care center, and treatment rooms. The existing buildings required extensive shoring while the new "link" building was built connecting the clinic and hospital. Infection control and construction containment were critical aspects of the schedule and the safety plan.
