Common Sense:
This building achieved LEED certification. The project included the use of locally harvested and milled hemlock timbers for the porches, cellulose insulation, recycled carpeting and zero volatile organic compounds (VOC) in the building materials

Description:
This highly sustainable building starts with the basics, such as proper solar orientation and roof overhangs. The building is also equipped with 70,000 photo voltaic cells on the roof-mounted solar panels. The building is heated with wood pellets stored in a pellet silo, and utilizes air transfer units to ventilate, cool and heat the air by sensors.
